Even though I knew this play will be so dramatic, I was still surprised by the scene two, and I also felt that Romeo and Juliet are so pathetic in scene three. They said "love" to each other only few hours after they first met each other. To be honest, I knew Romeo would do things that are crazy, but I didn't expect that he would go to Juliet's house alone after the party. When I saw Romeo was going to Juliet's house the word in my mind was death. However, because of true love Romeo doesn't care about death any more, because of true love Juliet would give up all her benefits from her family, because of true love Romeo has to have a huge argument with his dad, because of true love Juliet starts to move against her family. The question is what true love is.
The true love is something which people can sacrifice everything if they have to do to keep the true love. In this play, the author used a dramatic story between two teenagers to teach us what the true love is and why it is different from other loves. In scene two Romeo and Juliet both think that they knew the secret which the other doesn't know. It is so true that people would protect their loves by keeping the secret. However, Juliet doesn't know that Romeo can hear her, so she tells the truth to herself. "O Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore art thou Romeo? Deny thy father and refuse thy name. Or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love, And I’ll no longer be a Capulet" (Shakespeare act 2 scene 2 36-39). In this line I can feel how hopeless Juliet is and how consumingly she hopes Romeo would love her. Once she knows that Romeo loves her so much, she would give up all her family which has so much money and power. In her mind a family like her family is too sad to compare with the true love which is Romeo. In scene three Romeo has a huge argument with his dad which makes him feel so hopeless, and it also teaches him what is true love. “I pray thee, chide not. Her I love now Doth grace for grace and love for love allow. The other did not so" (Shakespeare act 2 scene 3 91-93). He finally realizes that how silly he was. He believed that he was in love with Rosalind, but he finds out that he was dreaming and she didn't answer back all the time. Now he met Juliet and he finds out that true love is that they would give everything up to stay with their love. "Alack, there lies more peril in thine eye Than twenty of their swords. Look thou but sweet, And I am proof against their enmity" (Shakespeare act 2 scene 2 76-79). At this moment, Romeo has put the love with Juliet at the first position, so he doesn't care any danger. Even though everyone knows that they love each other so much, they still has so many struggles.
I am now at a very special point of the story because this story is getting more and more dramatic, and I am so interested in that how Romeo and Juliet deal with their problems and struggles. Thus, I will discover and seek more about the true love between them and I would like to bring it into our real life!
